Training, regulatory compliance and Policies and Contracts: The firm advises and trains employers on the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) among other regulations. They advise clients how to comply with state and federal regulations and avoid expensive lawsuits or sanctions arising from human resources or other labor-relations issues. The firm’s labor and employment attorneys are heavily involved in the review and drafting of employee handbooks, policy and procedure manuals and employment contracts, including independent contractor agreements, severance agreements and covenants not to compete. We also counsel employers on a daily basis and routinely provide employment training. Our attorneys meticulously draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, including confidentiality agreements, executive compensation agreements, service contracts, severance agreements, non-compete agreements, and other employment contracts.
Employment litigation: The employment law attorneys of Foreman Friedman provide employers with zealous representation in employment disputes involving sexual harassment, workplace discrimination, employment-contract disputes, FLSA violations, and other employment disputes. The firm pursues and defends compensation and/or injunctions in the event of restrictive covenant violations and other breaches of contract. We handle cases in federal and state court, including appeals if necessary. We also regularly engage in arbitration matters and administrative proceedings, including investigations before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the U.S. Department of Labor.
